Business Development & Sales Specialist - Residential Construction


Location: Newton/Needham, MA (Hybrid - Office, Local Networking, and Client Meetings)

The Absolute is a small, growing residential builder focused primarily on new construction. We're hiring a Business Development & Sales Specialist who can proactively generate opportunities, build strong referral relationships, and convert qualified leads into signed projects. This role is for someone who creates their own pipeline, drives conversations, and helps fuel the company's next stage of growth.

You'll work closely with ownership to expand market presence, strengthen strategic partnerships, and establish a repeatable sales process that supports long-term scaling.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own business development and sales efforts for residential new construction (and occasional light commercial)
  • Proactively generate and qualify leads through networking, referrals, partnerships, and outbound outreach
  • Build and maintain relationships with homeowners, architects, designers, developers, and real estate professionals
  • Manage the sales pipeline, tracking leads, follow-ups, and deal stages in JobTread (Buildertrend experience also transfers well)
  • Lead discovery calls, initial consultations, and project fit assessments
  • Coordinate with ownership and preconstruction to align scope, budgets, and client expectations
  • Prepare and present proposals and support contract execution
  • Provide structured sales updates (weekly pipeline reviews + quick check-ins as needed)

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in construction sales, business development, or related role
  • Residential construction background strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and follow-through skills
  • Self-directed, organized, and comfortable creating your own outreach strategy
  • Experience using CRM or construction management software (JobTread or Buildertrend a plus)
